It has been 1.5 years since I started collective e It has been 1.5 years since I started collective embroidery project. Over 40 people took part in the process of "Networks of Nature" making. I feel like it was my companion moving from lonely covid times back into connecting with people, back to community. And it is so symbolic that it is presented in our first exhibition at Kompresorine, where our sociocultural organisation @ideas_block is reborn. Ideas block has always been about connecting and learning from one another, sharing and creating culture together. I believe this embroidery project filled a gap that was left after closing our previous place, and led me to a new start. But I am very happy to share with you all that our new @ideas_block place Kompresorinė (compressors room) is finally opening it's doors. We had our first event last Friday - exhibition Humans, non-humans, with and without humans opening. And my work is also part of this exhibition organised together with @altlab_ . First time in a long while I am working on a canva First time in a long while I am working on a canvas. It is a canvas that previously had been used for an art installation and now I decided to give it a second life. I used watercolour, added cutouts from magazines and now stitching connecting lines, so that all the pieces can come together. Connecting culture and nature into one. As it talks about our connection to everything that surrounds us. This weekend I was celebrating my birthday and it feels like it was such a beautiful memorable moment. Celebrating birthdays might seem like nothing special, until you actually think of all the different people coming together and connecting in the most interesting ways. So simple but so energising at the same time. All this energy generated by strengthening connections. It makes me think of the power we have when working together - to create and grow together. I visualise a beautiful network we are building when exchanging ideas. Yesterday we were hanging an exhibition at the old Yesterday we were hanging an exhibition at the oldest independent cinema in Vilnius. It is a group exhibition by @atvirukasukrainai project. The project raises money for Ukraine through the sales of postcards featuring pieces by various artists. /// Paroda @skalvijoskinocentras laukia lankytojų.
