In 2021, together with an artist Rūta Žinienė, we were commissioned to create a collection of embroidered textiles for a movie that takes place in a dystopian future, where the handmade pieces of textiles would be the remnants of the past.

To have a consistent style of “one person” we decided to work on each piece interchangeably (one would start, the other would continue, and so on). In a way this also allowed us to connect past and future (two different styles interacting with one another), as the pieces travelled back and forth – new ideas emerged and completely altered their development.

Artworks feature abstract shapes of “accidental” marks that later became artworks. They are also based on the shapes in nature, resembling terrain patterns, oceans and islands, or simply, the structures everything is made of – molecules.
